We are delighted to celebrate the promotion of three members of staff, two at our Grimsby office and one at the Hull office.
In Grimsby, Lindsay Taylor has been promoted to manager whilst Mike Hall has been appointed as assistant manager.
Lindsay joined Forrester Boyd in 2009 as a trainee accountant after studying A-levels at Franklin College.
Her trainee journey saw her gain her AAT and ACCA qualifications. Over her 12 years with Forrester Boyd, Lindsay has enjoyed delivering a variety of services to clients from tax and accounts advice to management accounts and audits. Her clients range from individuals, sole traders and partnerships through to small and medium-sized companies. She works across a wide range of sectors with a particular interest in farming, construction and haulage.
Speaking of her appointment, Lindsay said “I am looking forward to continuing to develop my skills and knowledge as an accountant and to provide the best service I can to my clients. I really enjoy my job, delivering a helpful service and most importantly the relationships with clients that comes with it.”
In her spare time, Lindsay enjoys baking and cooking.
The second Grimsby promotion see’s Mike Hall appointed as assistant manager. Mike joined the firm in 2012, again on the trainee accountancy programme. Following his studies at Franklin College, Mike attained his AAT and ACCA qualifications.
Mike specialises in audit and internal audit, predominantly in the Education and Charity sectors. Retaining his links in Education, Mike works closely with Franklin College in their centre for professional development where he is an Enterprise Adviser.
Mike said: “I am delighted to have been appointed an assistant manager and am looking forward to continuing to work closely with my clients and take on more management responsibility.”
Outside of work, Mike enjoys watching, playing and managing football. He runs the Laceby Sunday league team with visions of expanding into junior football sections.
Moving to the North Bank, Andrew Hodgson has been appointed as a manager. Following his studies at the University of Hull, Andrew joined the firm in 2009, becoming ACA qualified in 2014. He works with a broad portfolio of clients providing accounts preparation, audits, corporate tax, financial reporting and VAT. He has a particular specialism in solicitors’ accounts and audits. Away from the office Andrew enjoys spending time with his family as well as being a Hull City supporter.
Speaking of his promotion, Andrew said “I am most passionate about delivering a high quality, efficient and effective service to clients, tailored specifically to the client’s needs to ensure that they understand what, why and how we adjust their financial information to create an accurate and meaningful end product.”
These appointments reinforce Forrester Boyd’s internal development opportunities and the success of our trainee accountancy programme. Most of the firm’s 17 partners have come through the trainee accountancy route. Speaking of the new manager appointments, Philip George, HR partner said, “I am so pleased to see our homegrown talent rising through the ranks. I began my career path on the trainee accountancy programme with Forrester Boyd and it is evident that the opportunities available for career progression are second to none. We provide our staff with wide ranging training and development opportunities allowing them to hone their skills and progress within the firm. We have a strong internal mentoring ethos with all staff supporting each other, helping to improve and develop their expertise and knowledge and to hopefully continually nurture some more partners of the future”.
