The Bradbury Foundation awards £5,500 to local projects

Foundation

The Bradbury Foundation has announced its latest round of grant funding, awarding £5,500 to four local organisations working to make a positive difference across Lincolnshire and the surrounding area.

The latest funding awards will support four organisations, with an estimated 4,215 people set to benefit from their projects.

Lindsey Lodge Hospice and Healthcare has been awarded £2,000 towards a project supporting people in the Scunthorpe area. The project is expected to benefit approximately 1,500 people. The funding will be used towards transforming their current summer house and turning it into a multifunctional space that can be used all year round.

St Michael's Church of England Primary School in Louth has received £500 towards their school library, with an estimated 315 children are expected to benefit.

The Bradley Youth Festival has been awarded £1,000 to support its annual performing arts festival in Grimsby. The festival provides children and young people with a safe and welcoming environment to develop their talents, build confidence and express themselves through the arts. It also encourages friendships, supports mental wellbeing and gives young performers the opportunity to showcase their abilities.

The Culture House had received £2,000 to support its Picnic in the Park programme, delivering four free community events in People's Park, Grimsby, throughout August 2026. The events brought families and residents together through live entertainment, creative workshops, storytelling and nature-based activities, helping to reduce loneliness and improve wellbeing. One of the picnics was dedicated to The Bradbury Foundation in memory of Lee Bradbury, featuring a special Teddy Bears Picnic to celebrate community spirit and raise awareness of the Foundation's work.

The latest awards follow a successful funding round in May, when the Foundation approved grants for organisations including Grimsby in Bloom CIC, Gainsborough Men's Shed, Disability Social Network, Our Big Picture and Lincolnshire Cares.

Across the May and August funding rounds, the Foundation has approved £13,119 in grant funding for ten community projects, with an estimated 5,705 people expected to benefit.

The announcement comes as the Foundation celebrates another important milestone, having raised more than £55,000 since its establishment in 2024.

Alison Mitchell, Trustee of The Bradbury Foundation, commented:

"Reaching this fundraising milestone is a fantastic achievement and reflects the generosity of everyone who has supported the Foundation. What matters most is seeing that support turned into funding for local organisations that are making a real difference.

"Whether it's helping young people, supporting healthcare services or bringing communities together, we're proud to play a part in helping these projects succeed. It's exactly the kind of legacy we wanted to create through the Bradbury Foundation."

The Foundation continues to welcome applications from eligible charities, not-for-profit organisations and community groups, particularly smaller volunteer-led organisations where funding can make a meaningful difference.
