We have welcomed seven new trainees across our offices in Lincolnshire and Yorkshire as the next generation begin their careers with the firm through its Trainee Academy. The 2026 cohort joins teams in Louth, Grimsby, Beverley, Scunthorpe and Leeds, combining practical experience within the firm with studying towards professional qualifications.
The Trainee Academy offers Sixth Form and College leavers the perfect route into accountancy, giving them the opportunity to build their knowledge and experience in the workplace while working towards recognised qualifications and developing their careers within the profession.
Joining the Louth office from Skegness Grammar School is Alice Battersby, who was attracted by the opportunity to combine studying with practical experience. Alice said: ‘The Trainee Academy really appealed to me because it gives me the opportunity to gain experience while studying towards my qualifications. I’m looking forward to working with a range of clients and progressing my professional career with Forrester Boyd.’
Darcey Porritt joins the Grimsby office from Franklin Sixth Form College and was drawn to Forrester Boyd by its local reputation and involvement in the community. She said: ‘I’m looking forward to developing my skills, meeting new people and becoming more confident within the accounting profession. Forrester Boyd has a great reputation locally and I really liked its involvement in the community as well as the opportunities available within the firm.’
In Beverley, Isobelle Stabeler joins from Wyke Sixth Form College after Forrester Boyd was recommended to her while she was studying. Isobelle said: ‘I’m looking forward to experiencing the day-to-day life of an accountant and working alongside my new colleagues. I really liked Forrester Boyd’s focus on teamwork and collaboration and how people work together towards shared goals.’
Nicholas Fuller joins the Scunthorpe team from John Leggott College and is particularly interested in gaining an insight into the businesses the firm supports. Nicholas said: ‘I’m looking forward to seeing how different types of businesses work and developing my career within the firm. The Trainee Academy stood out to me because it provides such a strong pathway into a career in accountancy.’
Our growing Leeds office also welcomes its first new trainee, Oliver Hopwood, who joins from New College Pontefract. Oliver said: ‘I’m looking forward to learning as much as possible about the world of accounting. Starting my career in the Leeds office is a great opportunity and I’m excited to develop my knowledge and experience as part of the team.’
Back in Grimsby, Owen Taylor also joins from Franklin Sixth Form College. Owen said: ‘I’m looking forward to gaining valuable work experience and making connections with new people. Forrester Boyd’s values were something that really attracted me to the firm and I’m excited to get started.’
Completing the 2026 cohort is Thomas Colebourne, who joins the Louth office from Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School. Thomas said: ‘I’m looking forward to meeting and collaborating with lots of different people across the firm. When I researched Forrester Boyd, I was really impressed by the work it does with its trainees and the support it gives them to help them succeed.’
Forrester Boyd’s Trainee Academy was created to provide a structured route into the profession for young people who want to begin building their careers straight from school or college. Trainees gain hands-on experience from the outset while receiving support from colleagues across the firm as they work towards their professional qualifications.
