Amateur Chefs cook up a storm for charity!
- 4th July 2025
Wow – what a night! On Tuesday 24th June, teams from Forrester Boyd and Bridge McFarland LLP switched their regular day jobs to experience the hospitality trade for the third Ultimate Cook Fundraiser.
This event has become a firm staple in Forrester Boyd’s fundraising calendar, combining fun, flair and a bit of friendly competition, all in the name of raising much needed funds for The Bradbury Foundation.
Supervised by Carrie and Chris, staff from the Grimsby Institute, the teams took over the Institutes' recently re-launched Samphire Restaurant. The evening saw amateur chefs and front-of-house teams put their skills (and nerves!) to the test. With mystery ingredients, a tight prep window and a full house of hungry guests, the pressure was certainly on.
From ironing tablecloths and polishing cutlery to crafting table centre-pieces and designing welcome cocktails, the front-of-house teams definitely rose to the occasion. Meanwhile, those in the kitchen had their own challenges. Arriving to a table full of ingredients, teams had to think on their feet to come up with a three course menu and having to also incorporate guests dietary needs too.
This event is about more than just good food and good fun. It’s about our community and coming together to make a difference. The Bradbury Foundation was born from a shared desire at Forrester Boyd to give something back to our region. Named in memory of long-serving partner Lee Bradbury, the Foundation’s purpose is to provide financial support for community projects that will enhance and improve the quality for communities local to each of the firms offices.
The Foundation was officially launched in September 2024 and has already begun awarding grants to charitable projects across Lincolnshire and the East Riding of Yorkshire.
Thanks to the generosity of the guests, sponsors and all those who took part, a fantastic £2,518.44 was raised!
