Audit Manager - Chartered Certified Accountant
I have been working within accountancy for nearly twenty years. I started off as an accounts assistant at a local motor company, where I studied towards the AAT qualification. After around three years I passed my AAT qualification.
I then wanted to obtain my ACCA qualification so I moved to an accountancy practice based in Hessle. I worked there for five years gaining lots of experience and I qualified in August 2013.
Since then I have worked for a few local firms gaining lots of experience, I have a vast knowledge of many different client sectors and understand the challenges that companies face on a day to day basis. I also gained a lot of experience in auditing the financial statements of larger company accounts and group companies. Over the last five years I have been heavily involved with auditing company accounts, which led to me being promoted to Audit Manager in 2022.
I have recently joined Forrester Boyd as Audit Manager and I am enjoying working with the rest of the team and getting to know the firm’s clients. The team are really friendly and all work together to support each other.
Interests
I have two young children, so when I am not working I am spending time with my children and husband. Family life can be very hectic at times so in our spare time we enjoy going out for the day, usually to the beach or the park for a picnic. I also enjoy going on holiday (somewhere nice and warm), meeting up with friends, socialising and shopping.
If you weren’t an accountant, what would you be?
If I wasn’t an accountant I would either be a Primary School Teacher because I think every day would be interesting and very rewarding as I would be making a difference in someone’s life, or I would be an event organiser because I love to plan parties and special events and enjoy seeing everything come together at the end.
