Andrew Hodgson

Manager - Chartered Accountant

Headshot of Andrew Hodgson

I always had the ambition to become an accountant from an early age.

I obtained a first class honours degree in Accounting at The University of Hull.

I have been working in practice since 2009 acquiring a vast array of knowledge and skills along the way.

I started studying for my ACA qualification in 2010 utilising the various exemptions acquired from my degree.

I qualified as a Chartered accountant in January 2014.

I became a manager in 2016.

I joined Forrester Boyd in 2020 as part of the acquisition of Hull based Graybrowne.

I enjoy the diversity of the work that I carry out at Forrester Boyd.

No two days are the same.

If I were to pick one aspect of my job that would be my favourite it would be financial reporting as that is the final part of the accounting process and represents the hard work and effort that has gone into the preparation of the accounts.

Interests

I enjoy spending time with family and friends; Coaching football. Watching football (Hull City).

If you weren’t an accountant, what would you be?

I spend a lot of my spare time coaching football and hold a vast array of FA qualifications, so it’s likely to be an Academy Football Coach.
