Alan joined Forrester Boyd in 1997, two years after qualifying and became a partner in 2006. He is responsible for a mixed portfolio of clients with very differing needs and he covers both standard compliance audit and accounts and tax issues through to more general business issues. In recent years he has become one of the firm’s education specialists with a significant portfolio of academy clients. His role as partner in charge of the Skegness office has left him perfectly placed to take a lead in Forrester Boyd’s home and holiday parks specialism. Alan is also Chairman of the Louth office.
He thrives on not knowing exactly what each day will bring from this very varied client portfolio and enjoys the challenge of working with clients to grow or improve their businesses. It is through this close working relationship that Alan gains real job satisfaction – getting to know his clients as people, not just sets of accounts. Alan is Forrester Boyd’s resident daredevil and adventurer with exploits ranging from sliding down zip wires to gorge walking, as well as the small matter of cycling 172 miles coast to coast in one day.
On a more sedate level he is also on the board of Homestart Lincolnshire, a charity dedicated to providing help and support for families with young children.
