Public sector apprenticeship targets within academies
The government are aiming for all public bodies with more than 250 employees to employ a minimum of 2.3% of their headcount as apprentices between April 2017 and March 2021. As part of this initiative all academies will be required to report the number of people they have employed as new apprentices from April 2019. More information for apprenticeships within academies can be found here.
2018/19 GAG funding
ESFA will begin issuing 2018/19 GAG allocations at the end of February, and they will all be allocated by the end of March. They will be uploaded to the ‘revenue funding’ folder in the Document Exchange section of the Information Exchange. They will be uploaded individually for each academy, so Multi Academy Trusts may find that they are not all uploaded at the same time.
Once you have received this allocation you can start finalising your budget for the coming year, to give you as much time as possible to make financial decisions.
National Non-Domestic Rate Claims
If you haven’t yet claimed your funding for your 2017/18 rates, you need to do this now. In order to receive this funding you must complete the claims form by 31 March 2018. The form can be found here.
If you have not claimed this in previous years, you can contact the ESFA using the enquiry form. If you attach your rates invoice they will send you a rebate going back as far as 2014/15.
