Digital Accounting: Compliance or opportunity?

Wednesday 5th December 2018 - 08:30am

Paul Tofton, Partner, and head of digital accounting at Forrester Boyd, will present the latest in a series of Making Tax Digital seminars covering MTD, online/cloud accounting and how these areas affect owner managed businesses. Consideration will be given to obligations and ideas on how business owners can benefit from “going digital”.

The first phase of the government’s Making Tax Digital project will go ahead as planned in April 2019, affecting VAT registered businesses with turnover above the VAT registration threshold of £85,000. There is therefore a compliance consideration for many businesses with just a matter of weeks to go. For others that may not be affected yet, it could still be an opportunity to get ahead and tap into the benefits digital accounting has to offer.
